The Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club is part of the sporting precinct in the City of Yarra's historic Edinburgh Gardens. The club is an amalgamation of the North Fitzroy/Fitzroy Bowling Club (formed 1877), the Victoria Bowling Club (formed 1876) and the Edinburgh Park Ladies Club (formed in 1947). When circumstances brought these clubs together in 2000, it was the beginning of a new era and the club has excelled both on and off the green ever since thanks to great facilities, awesome people, a commitment to being part of the local community and the goal of being a serious contender on the sporting field. The club is a hive of activity most days and nights and has become a focal point for social functions, corporate events and, of course, bowls.
The club can offer different levels of bowling experiences from barefoot to competition on its 2 synthetic greens which are open all year round for everything from barefoot bowls to hosting major tournaments. With 5 teams in the summer pennant competition (4 of which saw serious finals action in the 2012/2013 season), 3 Bowls Australia advanced coaches and several levels of membership available, FVBSC is the place to come if it is bowls you are after!
